March 2016, Singapore – To commemorate 10 years of publication, AUGUSTMAN worked together with Sunday Punch – a local artisanal firm that handcrafts small batches of bottled cocktails – to design a series of five custom tipples for the discerning man.
Darren Ho, managing editor says “Although 10 years is brief in the span of a magazine, it’s a milestone that’s worth celebrating. We wanted to create a convivial product that would allow us to share this moment with our readers and friends, and we also wanted to celebrate our Singaporean heritage in a modern way. That’s why we decided to work on a series of cocktails, starting with the Monkey Suit, in collaboration with Sunday Punch.”
The Monkey Suit is an Asian spin on the whisky sour, made with blended malt Scotch whisky, infused with black pepper, chrysanthemum-steeped vermouth, apple cider vinegar and honey – simply a balance of sweet, sour, bitter and spicy.
It doesn’t only pay tribute to the year of the Monkey, but also gives a nod to dapper gents who know better than to take themselves too seriously, even at black tie events.
