With 15 years of magazine publishing experience behind it, Burda Singapore has been sought to produce books and customised publications. No stranger customised design and controlled quality printing, two hard cover books were recently produced and they are Visions of Luxury and Legends of Prestige. In fact these books were sold for charity and sums raised were donated to the Prestige-Yellow Ribbon-Children Fund.
Requests for commercial projects by clients are Flair by ION and Haute! with the latter created for MBS Watch & Jewellery Exhibition. Annual in-house supplements include Wealth, Wedding, MVMT, Guru and the Gentlemen’s Rule Book to name but a few.
One other such creative is the PIN SG50 Book in Mandarin sponsored by Jaeger LeCoultre. Spinning off from this project, requests for other Chinese publications have been forthcoming.

The initiator of Asia’s leading high society magazine, Prestige, Melvin Ang is known in the industry as a respected pioneer of luxury publications. With a range of successful locally created titles under his belt such as August Man, PIN Prestige and Adore, all of which enjoy regional presence, Ang carries duo portfolio in Burda – that of a Publisher and Managing Director (South East Asia) as well as Group Publisher, Luxury Brands for Asia. With 30 years of luxury lifestyle experiences, he directs Burda Asia’s overall growth strategy of the luxury titles in Asia, including licensing all titles worldwide. Ang also looks after the operations in Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Director of Operations
Laura Lim joined the Prestige Singapore marketing team 12 years ago. As the current Director of Operations, Lim fronts the association with the high society and is the head of Marketing as well as Special Projects Department. Her role includes conception creation, curation and execution of commercial projects. Custom publishing for books and trade publications now forms part of the business unit and her role has diversifies into corporate affairs that includes the development of business strategies including commercial tie-ups across the regional titles.
Associate Publisher Ann Lee is a two-decade veteran in advertising sales. With her keen business acuity and large network of contacts within the luxury industry, she has been instrumental to the growth and success of all Burda regional titles, including Prestige, Pin Prestige, Adore and August Man. Versatile and pro-active with an infectious can-do spirit, she always enjoys a good challenge — a trait she has imparted to her entire team.
Senior Creative Director
Catherine Wong has more than 20 years of industry experience, including stints at local media giants Singapore Press Holdings and MediaCorp. In the course of her career, she has garnered Best in Design and Best Overall Design acclaim at The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) and the WAN-IFRA Asia Media Awards (IFRA) respectively. Catherine, after close to a decade with Burda Singapore, currently oversees the creative direction of the group’s luxury magazines as well as its special projects endeavours.
Chua Siew Gek
Finance Director & Asisstant Financial Controller (Asia)
Chua Siew Gek is the Finance Director of Burda Singapore, responsible for the corporate and financial strategies of the company. She is also the Assistant Financial Controller of Burda International (Asia) and assists in overseeing the budgetary and financial implementation of regional units. She was formerly the Finance Director of CR Media and a key member of the M&A team responsible for structuring the sale CR Media to Burda Singapore in 2011. She has held key management positions in various overseas corporations.
Head of Digital Ad Revenue and Operations (Regional)
William has more then a decade of experience in marketing, events, and most recently digital strategy in the media industry. His role has evolved constantly with time, and he has now taken on a regional role supporting the Burda Asia offices in the area of digital strategy and thought leadership. He also plays an important role in staff training, product development and moving the company towards the digital media age.
Group Fashion Director
One of the top stylists in the industry, Johnny Khoo has almost 20 years of experience styling and conceptualising advertising campaigns and shoots for magazines such as Elle and Nuyou. He has been instrumental in putting together the innovative covers and fashion spreads within PIN Prestige since its inception in 2013; and in March 2015, he was named Group Fashion Director for all of Burda Singapore’s publications, including Prestige, PIN Prestige and August Man.
Managing Editor, AUGUST MAN Singapore
Managing editor of August Man since 2011, Darren Ho first joined the magazine as a writer in 2006, eventually directing the diversification of the brand. With him at the helm, August Man has expanded from a solely print medium to becoming one of the first lifestyle-focused men’s omni-channel experiences in the region.
Managing Editor, Prestige Singapore
One of the longest-serving journalists on the Prestige team, Lauren Tan rose through the ranks beginning from Features Editor to her current appointment as Editor. Over the years, she has steered several key supplementary titles, including Prestige Lifestyle, Wealth and Living, and helms the magazine’s annual lists, namely Power 300, 40 Under 40 and Billionaire Index. Prior to joining Prestige in late 2008, she cut her teeth as a writer for several design magazines, and for three years, worked in international affairs at a Singapore defence agency. Aside from her love of crafting arresting content, she has a thirst for tasting her way through the world’s winegrowing regions and enjoys watching a good crime procedural on television.
A renown veteran in the Singapore magazine industry, Grace Lee is a prominent writer-turned-editor who has more than two decades of experience in Chinese journalism. Lee joined Burda Singapore as Managing Editor for the Chinese luxury fashion title, PIN Prestige in 2013. She helms a well-respected team of media professionals and via her good relations, is able to engage well known photographers and stylists, which gives the magazine an edge over its competitors in the market. Lee is now Editor In-Chief for Singapore as well as PIN Malaysia, with the latter being a new launch in September 2015.

In celebration of Singapore’s Jubilee year, PIN Prestige launches its first book, “Love”, a curated compilation of creative expressions of love for Singapore by 27 artists, photographers, writers, illustrators and directors.
Prestige, is honoured to be a part of the Yellow Ribbon Fund Charity Gala Dinner 2015. The event was held on 29th May at The Ritz Carlton Singapore where a record amount of close to S$1,000,000 was raised.
Burda Singapore has made two recent hires – Johnny Khoo as Group Fashion Director and Genevieve Jiang as Prestige Singapore’s new managing editor. They will resume their roles in the first quarter of the year.
Two of Burda Singapore’s prominent magazines, Prestige and PIN Prestige, have entered a partnership with the China Horse Club (CHC) as official lifestyle magazines of the China Equine Cultural Festive (CECF), a signature event of CHC that will be held in Singapore for the first time.
Earlier this year, guests of Burda Singapore, Chinese business leaders, horse owners and established partners of China Horse Club alike enjoyed two days of exciting celebrations at the inaugural 2015 China Equine Cultural Festival Singapore.
