Singapore, 7 April 2016 — Burda Singapore is delighted to announce the appointment of Lauren Tan as Editor of Prestige Singapore, the region’s leading luxury lifestyle magazine. She replaces outgoing Managing Editor Genevieve Jiang, who is leaving to pursue other personal interests, effective today.
Previously Deputy Editor of the magazine over-seeing its day-to-day operations, Tan is one of the longest-serving journalists at Prestige, rising through the ranks from Features Editor to her new appointment as Editor. Over the years, she has steered several key supplementary titles, including Prestige LIFESTYLE, WEALTH and LIVING and helms the magazine’s annual lists, namely Power 300, 40 Under 40 and Billionaire Index.
Prior to joining Prestige in late 2008, Tan cut her teeth as a writer for several design magazines under the Panpac Lifestyle Magazines stable, and for three years, worked in international affairs at a Singapore defence agency.
“We are glad to announce Lauren’s promotion to Editor of our flagship title as she has been with us through several key stages of the magazine and has contributed greatly towards its success,” says Melvin Ang, Group Publisher (Luxury Brands) and Managing Director of South East Asia. “However, while we celebrate Lauren’s new position within Burda, we are also sad to part ways with Genevieve, who has done a commendable job steering the magazine and its digital assets over the last year, including the introduction of the magazine’s first Beauty Awards. We wish her well in her endeavours,” adds Ang.
